How does air conditioning work?
Now that's a question we get asked a lot.
Most people think that air conditioning works by generating cold air. That's not the case. Infact the way it does work is by taking the heat from inside and transferring it to outdoors.
How it works in more detail
Heat from an inside area/room is absorbed and passed externally by a refrigerant gas. The refrigerant is contained within coils that pass through a closed system. The coils direct the refrigerant from internally to externally and then back internally once more.
Components along the way manipulate the state, temperature and pressure of the refrigerant gas so that it can absorb or discard heat at certain places. These components comprise of;
- The evaporator
- The compressor
- The condensor
